Everyday Cricket Hustlin’, Hustlin’, Hustlin!

I swear, not a day goes by that I don’t get a notification that Cricket is upto something HUGE! Not only do they continue to expand extremely rapidly, they are apparently looking to seriously expand their data service offerings. According to this recent press release entitled, “Cricket Expands With AlcaLu” they purchased upto $126 million dollars of CDMA2000® 1xEV-DO Revision A (Rev. A) technology allowing for high-speed wireless data transfer. As most Cricket nerds know, this can only mean good things. A Cricket insider suggests that we will start seeing evidence of this awesome new data equipment probably late 2007 or early 2008. All I can say is, FINALLY! I just wish I knew what the master plan was.

Note: They recently awarded a similar contract to Nortel for $135 million. Big things poppin!

hopefully it will give them the capacity to allow txt 2 email and email 2 txt services. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but in Houston, it’s not happening. This is one of the most useful features in having a cell phone, to me. I was shocked when I found out they didn’t yet offer this service.. I didn’t even think to verify it, because every provider I’ve ever had, had this ability.

Also, maybe it will help the hold up with places like google being able to send notifications via SMS.. I miss my calendar reminders to my phone.
