The Cricket Wireless Amphitheater is located just south of San Diego. It is formally known as the Coors Amphitheater and can seat over 19,000 people. Unless you are going to QUALCOMM Stadium this is the biggest venue in the San Diego area. The original Coors Amphitheater was opened in 1998 and it just recently got a new name in 2008 when Cricket Wireless decided to buy the sponsorship rights. The venue features over 9000 standard seats and over 10,000 lawn seats. There is plenty of room to watch a concert outside. It’s San Diego, so you can expect to see events year round.
A variety of acts have performed at the Cricket Wireless Theater. Bands such as Spice Girls, Aerosmith, No Doubt, Incubus and Jack Johnson are just some of the major names that have performed. Every year new bands and singers go on tour and will most likely visit the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater.

The only major concern with this venue is the parking. Many people have been stranded for a long period of time when the show ends. However, if you go early to the show and plan on tailgating ahead of time you will have no problem finding a parking space. Spend a few minutes at your car after the event maybe required at certain events to avoid major delays. All in all, if you can put up with a little traffic a great time can be in your future at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater.
